In conjunction with the City of Perth's Good Food Month in March, we're hosting a Wine and Cheese Dinner and we're fortunate enough to have Will Studd, along with local Perth guru Nick Bath, to host the dinner.

Want to learn more about the wonderful world of cheese? Then this event is certainly for you, and we are all very excioted to be hosting one of Australia's most knowledgeable cheese gurus. It's going to be a great night, we hope you can make it.

About Will Studd...

Will Studd has been at the forefront of specialist cheese in Australia for the past two decades. Will’s Foxtel cheese show – Cheese Slices – will be airing on the ABC this year.

His passion for cheese first originated in London during the 1970’s where he established a chain of delicatessens. With more than three decades of experience, he has done much to expand the horizons of the local industry, in a role that has included the distribution and retailing of fine cheese, media commentator, and successful author.


The evening....

Join Will and Nick for an exclusive evening where Chris Taylor of Frasers’s Restaurant prepares a five-course dinner inspired by artisanal cheeses selected from around the world. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend an evening matching Chris’s inspired menu with five fine wines from Howard Park winery, Margaret River, whilst Will takes you on a journey exploring artisanal and farmhouse cheese from the Olde World.

Please note that guests will be sharing tables with other guests at the dinner. We always run these events in this format and it works very well. Of course, if you book a group of 8 or so, then you'd fill your own table.


Dinner menu, with cheeses and wines, as follows...

 

1st Course
Yarra Valley Dairy Gentle Goat
Pan-fried goats cheese gnocchi; swiss brown mushrooms; porcini butter
Served with: Howard Park Riesling


2nd Course
Will Studd Aphrodite Haloumi
Grilled with lemon and oregano; eggplant & red pepper
Served with: Howard Park Sauvignon Blanc


3rd Course

Mauri Taleggio cave ripened
Taleggio polenta; tomato & prawn “sugo”
Served with: Howard Park Chardonnay


4th Course
Jean Perrin Le Caviste de Scey

Twice cooked soufflé with braised lamb shoulder,
english spinach & beetroot jus
Served with: Howard Park Leston Shiraz


To Finish

Queso de Manchego D.O. (Denominacion de Origen)
Mauri Gorgonzola Piccante D.O.P (Denominazione di Origine Controllata)

Individual cheese; roast grapes, grilled walnut bread
Served with: Howard Park Leston Cabernet
